UNSTUCK
Forgive your younger self,
Trust your current self, and
Create your better self.
Getting stuck in life is your invitation to grow.
As a first-time father, seasoned professional with a promising career, Aaron Pang thought he had life figured out. But even as he appeared to be meeting all of society’s expectations, something was wrong. By the time he understood the toll his stressful life was taking on his physical and mental health, it was almost too late. But through challenging his emotions and self-limiting beliefs, Aaron pivoted and transformed himself from a lost man into a thought leader in self-improvement and motivation. He became an author, a podcaster, transformation coach, TEDx and keynote speaker, and digital advisor at Microsoft.
In Unstuck, Aaron shares his unique journey and reveals how we can all take cues from our childhood selves, find clarity in discomfort and restore our innate curious mind. Aaron calls this Transformative Purpose, and his story along with fascinating sharing from his podcast guests (including authors, athletes, business leaders, psychologists, scientists, renowned coaches and global speakers) illuminate how anyone can take a fresh approach to gain new perspective, feel happy and fulfilled, and redefine their own success.
This book is for anyone who wants to gain a new perspective in times of uncertainty. Whether you are a student, graduate or grown-up, we all get stuck across different stages of our life. Getting stuck in life is our invitation to grow. Our anxiety for the future can be a powerful cue to look inward and rediscover ourselves.

Reviews
“A truly inspirational book that casts light in times of darkness and – most importantly – enlightens people’s lives under the shadow of the Covid pandemic. People might be bound by various circumstances, yet what matters most is how we see and handle our lives from a positive and pragmatic manner. This book gives readers not just comfort but positivity for everyday life.”
- Dr. Allan Zeman, Chairman, Lan Kwai Fong Group
“Aaron Pang puts his heart and soul into his writing and this book is no exception. This book challenges readers to think deeply about the conventional notions of success, of the ways we do things daily to ask better questions, asking questions to uncover our existing assumptions that may have become outdated. All of these to reach our “transformative purpose” so that we can be more, build a more positive community and be a better global citizen.”
- Ginny Tran, Equity Analyst
“It was an uplifting easy read that encouraged reflection. I really loved the piece on asking better questions. I think it is quite thought provoking for the reader.”
- Snezana Siljanovska, Account Director, Linkedin
“I immediately felt engaged by the "about this book" and "prologue" chapters and was interested to hear your story, it felt real.”
- Sharif Khan, Vice President Human Resource, Microsoft
“When I look around most days, I see people with their heads down, on a device, consumed with something on a screen... young and old... from various walks of life. We seem to be losing our consciousness of thoughts, intentions and actions. We don’t seem interested in noticing what’s happening around us or connecting with people without distractions. In his book, Aaron shares his own vulnerabilities and invites us to build an awareness of ourselves and the world around us, and especially to take action to discover ourselves... our strengths, what makes us tick, and how we might move through the world in a more positive, focused, purposeful way. We can control how we feel through our perspectives, and we can impact those around us every day. I look forward to taking in the many big ideas in Aaron’s book to practice being more aware and taking action for greater fulfilment and impact on those I touch every day. Our world really needs us now.”
- Karen Seymour, Chief Purpose Officer, Human At Work
“Aaron addresses topics that many of us think about yet we are perhaps reluctant to face for one reason or another. He is able to create an intimate 1-1 conversation with his audience, leading each person to their own realisations. This is extremely valuable.”
- Ali Ghorbani, Founder, Ali G Studio
This author offers hard-earned pearls of insight and wisdom to become our best selves, whether in life or at work. There are questions at the end of each section to prompt reflection, and, hopefully, action. All of us have the strength and power from within to be a change-maker, whether for ourselves individually, for family, or for our communities.
– Bauhinia Lee, Founder, Anima Ventures
“There are barely any books or entertainment on fatherhood. Men are not encouraged to share struggles and emotions. This book gives voice to the unspoken intricacy of being a modern man, and accounting for the Asian experience in this conversation is simply intersectional at its best.”
– Emery Fung, Founder, Awkward Conversations
“I like the concept of the book very much -- especially since I’m beset with digital devices and use my phone as an alarm clock! ”
- Joan Frances Lohmann (Technical Writer Aquent of LLC)
“Love that there's the sharing of personal stories, new learnings backed by scientific studies, and leave the readers with great questions to ponder upon their own lives.”
- Fion Leung, Co-founder & CEO, Time Auction
“As I read Aaron’s prologue, the thought that kept jumping into my mind was that if the road ahead is dark, we must learn to appreciate the twilight in the dark – to transform your purpose in a positive way.”
– Dr Keith Chau, Senior Continuing Education Consultant
“Aaron allows us to get a glimpse of his existential crisis and provides us with actionable tips on how to cope with ours. Finding one’s purpose is a deliberate, lifelong journey but every moment of it is rewarding.”
– Jonny Chan, B2B Marketer, Coalition, Inc.
“A much-needed theme in a fast-evolving world where people now seek happiness, comfort and purpose more than wealth and power. A good wake-up call and an invitation to see things differently.”
– Julien Rio, AVP, International Marketing, RingCentral
“The pandemic has provided us with the opportunity to change the way we look at, think about and live our lives. The choice is whether to embrace this opportunity or to let it pass us by. This book is for those who are looking for perspective and trying to make sense of what is the choice before us.”
– Alexandra Ho, GTM Manager, Microsoft Asia
“I look forward to enlightenment from the author on how to jump out of the social cycle that binds us to eternal suffering.”
– Danny Cheung, Architect, Microsoft
